That's a lot of satellite launches. Whew. A lot of hyperspectral. But how much is available open source?

Thank you for another very useful roundup of earth observation news.

Thanks, Fiona!

It certainly is an exciting time for hyperspectral enthusiasts! For Tanager-1, data related to detected gas plumes will be publicly available through the Carbon Mapper data portal.

If you are looking for open access to hyperspectral data, EnMAP and EMIT data are freely available. PRISMA data can also be accessed after registration and completing some forms.

For other commercial satellite data, free access is typically available through their respective Open Data programs. Companies like MAXAR, Planet, ICEYE, and Umbra have such initiatives. Additionally, Planet offers access to its data through their Education and Research Program.

Thank you Akis for that valuable information. I always assumed hyperspectral data was out of reach for my research; maybe that is changing.
